Ripple Effect

It is easy to get swept up in our own daily lives and live day by day without giving much thought on how to do something that impacts others for the better. Today, I encourage you to give it some consideration. Figure out what you can do to leave the world a better place. If this turned out to be your last day on earth, what can you do to leave some goodness in your wake?

Wake is an interesting word. The first meaning is to 'wake up,' as in waking up as from a sleep. It means to be alert, and to undergo a transformation; to change one's position or action. When we wake up to a situation, it causes an emotional response that is also a call for action. There is another meaning to the word wake, which is the term used for the waves caused by a boat moving through the water. In other words, a ripple effect. A ripple effect is the effect caused by the outcome of a particular event. What is interesting is, life is full of both big and small ripple effects. Some are so small we never notice them, but others do. Every thing we do is intricately woven together so that every action causes a spontaneous reflex. Some things we do cause unintentional reactions that we wish we could take back. But, what if we were deliberately intentional to create a ripple effect - one that provoked others to also do something positive and meaningful towards others? What kind of wake would we leave in society? I love to ponder the possibilities.

Let this be a little encouragement to BE INTENTIONAL. Leave a ripple effect where ever you go!
